..,.,
Andy Anderson, 2320 S. 96th street
Anderson: I would like to point out, as pointed out sometime
ago, if you look at most of those homes along
there and you look at the people living there most
of them are senior citizens like myself, my wife
and my neighbors. It seems to be the older you
get the more people start picking on you and want
to take your property and start doing what they
want to do with it. I guess they feel like when
you getting on up that age you don't have much
fight left, but regardless I think we're going to
put up a little bit of a struggle here with our
County Commissioners and let them know where we
stand. I don't think any of us want to see our
homes taken away from us and destroyed. When all
of that unused space is back there for routing.
There is plenty of space there, not against the
road as such, but I'm certainly against going down
there and taking all those homes. Uprooting
everybody, 20 - 15 families as I said before will
be uprooted and moved out and some of them are on
up in age and not too good in health. There they
would like to spend the rest of their lives there,
because they have spent most of their lives. That
is one thing I will struggle until the end to help
them to do what they want to do.
Mayor Fauson requested any additional comments from the audience.
None. Mayor Fauson requested Council comments, questions from Coun-
cil.
Hornbostel stated that the route for the Parkway is very close to the
route presented by Newmann. Louisville and Broomfield have made it
clear that it should be done without taking homes. Again there is
nothing in writing, there is a piece in the IGA that says that special
consideration will be given.
Hornbostel moved to continue the pUblic hearing until April 16th
Council meeting, seconded by Mayor Fauson. All in favor.
Griffiths recommended that City staff readvertise the public hearing
notice, given the length of time that has passed.
Howard moved to have public hearing notice readvertised, seconded by
Sackett. All in favor.
APPROVAL OF THE RMC CONTRACT FOR THE WATER TREATMENT PLANT DESIGN
Tom: Included in your Council packets is a contract and
2 attachments. Attachment A, and B which identi-
fies the scope of work and also a cost and task
matrix. The contract before you with RMC will be
used to do the design and construction management;
project management and the South Water Treatment
16
