..,

AWARD BID - 1991 PAVEMENT MARKING CONTRACT

Phare: Included in the 1991 streets operations and
maintenance budget are funds for pavement
restriping. The project includes restriping of
approximately 60,682 lineal feet of skip line and
169,467 lineal feet of solid line. The project
also includes replacement of 880 square feet of
thermo-plastic pavement markings for crosswalk
markers and stop bars on streets within the City
of Louisville. The funds budgeted for this
activity in 1991 are $10,385.00. The low bid was
$8,344.12. Therefore we can completed the work we
had original identified in the budget. We had a
request from Councilman Davidson to see if we
could do some additional pavement markings, the
funds available would allow us to thermo-plastic
pavement marking to that section of McCaslin
Blvd., between Cherry street and Dillon Road.
There are other sections where over a time we
would like to add additional markings and we will
work on these over the years as budget provides.
If we were to go beyond that section of McCaslin
Blvd we would need additional funds.

Carnival moved to award the 1991 Pavement striping Project to
Strijpe Wright at their low unit price bid of $8,344.12 and
approval of Change Order #1 adding $1,811.00 of work with
authorization for the Mayor and City Clerk to execute appropriate
contract documents on behalf on the city; seconded by Hornbostel.
All in favor.

Davidson asked to direct the Finance Committee to look into
providing the additional funds to the markings as called out by
Mr. Phare.

ORDINANCE NO. 1040, SERIES 1991 - PARTIAL UTILITY EASEMENT
VACATION - LOT 1, COTTONWOOD HOLLOW SUBDIVISION - 2ND READING -
PUBLIC HEARING

Griffiths read by title only, Ordinance #1040, Series 1991, "An
Ordinance vacating a portion of a drainage easement and a utility
easement located in Lot 1, Cottonwood Hollow Subdivision."

Mayor Fauson opened the public hearing. Certification of
publication was established.

Franklin: The present easements consume 15' of side yard and
restrict development of the 65.88' wide lot. The
partial vacation of the easements will allow
development of the lot with a standard 7' side
yard setback. City staff and outside agencies have
no conflict with the request.
