..,.
whether Louisville is a part of it or not. We have the
ideal situation right now where we are a part of the
authority but we are not paying our dues. I think that is
the ideal situation to where we can participate and we
can get all of the information that is available and still
be active and informed but yet if we choose to get out
of it we will not have that opportunity. I will sit here
tonight and support going to the vote of the people with
the three issues. I think we also need to support
information from this City on those three issues.
Hornbostel: I also think that it needs to be brought up that if we are
not in the Authority, that we don't pay taxes into the
Authority, and they can't run the road through our land
unless we are a member. I just think we need to be a part of that
overall process if it comes in front of us. I agree with
you totally, and I'm not saying lobby; just fair
information so that the public is informed.
Mayor Fauson reminded Council that a motion was on the floor and called for further
discussion.
Hornbostel: Susan, when you told us about the open meetings and
participation in issues, did you not say to us that as long
as we didn't do it as a Council that we could participate
in those things individually? So would directing staff to
put out information regarding those issues, would that
be a problem?
Griffiths: Going into detail in answering your question, I would
like to do that at the next meeting, if I could, and
14
