...,
Baysinger: I have no idea what the train traffic is.
Fauson: I agree with Randy's assessment that maybe we
could take these on an individual basis. This
parcel I don't think would net us any money,
whatsoever. I think it is too close to the edge of
the City, in the sense that a lot of people use
that as a jogging trail to the creek. I would hate
to see more barbwire put up that close to the
edge of our City.
Howard: I would like to agree with you, even though I
also agree with Randy's assessment that $500.00
for me is a huge sum of money. When I look at
the issue of open space, the citizens have in
many respects paid for this as an amenity for the
City. The amount of real dollar generation
versus the virtue of having an amenity available
for our constituents doesn't really balance. You
will be taking such open space for the time of
the lease out of the public's hands, when it is the
public's money that was expended to purchase
the land. My general opinion is that because the
amount of money we are talking about is not
enough to offset the decrease in the amenities of
the open space itself, I don't think I would be
willing to go along taking open space and
blocking out sections of it for private use.
Fauson moved that Council deny this request, but leave the door open in case there is an
offer on some parcel that the City could derive some revenue for and that is not being used
at the time for the public. The City should look at each request as an individual case,
seconded by Carnival. All in favor.
1992 BUDGET ADOPTION - SET PUBLIC HEARING
According to Colorado State Statutes (CRS 29-1-104 and 106) City Council is required
upon receipt of the proposed budget, to publish a "Notice of Budget" containing the
following information:
1. The proposed budget is open for inspection. (City Hall and the Public
Library).
2. The proposed budget will be considered for adoption on November 6, 1991.
3. Any elector may inspect the budget and file or register objections at any time
7
