City Council <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> May 18, 2010 <br /> Page 8 of 13 <br /> Councilor Dalton favored giving the developer some flexibility and asked why the <br /> vertical development condition was added. Principal Planner McCartney explained in <br /> review of the files, commercial square footage was very important to the City Council. <br /> Mayor Pro Tem Marsella was concerned about the commercial development in <br /> Planning Area #1, but supported giving the developer some flexibility and consistency in <br /> the development. <br /> Mayor Sisk also voiced his concern for the commercial development in Planning Area <br /> No. 1 but supported providing flexibility. He stressed the commercial was a key <br /> component of the approval of the North End development Plan. Principal Planner <br /> McCartney noted the commercial development in Planning Area #1 will come back <br /> before Council for a Final Development Plan. Mayor Sisk asked how many lots would <br /> be affected by the amendment. Principal Planner McCartney stated there are only four <br /> lots under 4,000 SF which would be affected by the amendment. <br /> Councilor Yarnell asked if the developer is requesting the reduction of the commercial <br /> non vertical mixed -use development. Mr. Markel stated they are currently evaluating <br /> the area and trying to bring a concept, which would work for both the City and the <br /> developer. <br /> Councilor Muckle stated the square footage of the commercial area was a crucial part of <br /> the fiscal analysis and to the approval of the General Development Plan. <br /> RESOLUTION No. 25, SERIES 2010 A RESOLUTION FOR A RE -PLAT OF BLOCK <br /> 6 AND 7, OF THE NORTH END SUBDIVISION AND FINAL PLANNED UNIT <br /> DEVELOPMENT <br /> MOTION: Councilor Muckle moved to approve Resolution No. 25, Series 2010, <br /> seconded by Mayor Pro Tem iMairsella. All were in favor. The motion carried. <br /> ORDINANCE No. 1572, SERIES 2010 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AN <br /> AMENDMENT TO A PLANNED COMMUNITY ZONE DISTRICT (PCZD) GENERAL <br /> DEVELOPLMENT PLAN FOR PROPERTY DESIGNATED AS THE NORTH END <br /> Mayor Sisk requested a City Attorney introduction. <br /> City Attorney Light read Ordinance No. 1572, Series 2010. <br /> MOTION: Councilor Muckle moved to approve Ordinance No. 1572, Series 2010, on <br /> final reading, the following conditions: <br /> 1. In the "Permitted Use Notes" section of the GDP, add the following to the end of <br /> Note #1: "Residential units limited to multi family attached units only, to be developed <br />
