Research will be done into <br />other possible prices and means of donations. The suggestion was made to <br />sell fence panels, as we did the garden plots. This will be followed up at the <br />November meeting. <br />2) Landscaping - perennial flower beds have been installed by City staff. <br />B. Education <br />1) 132 visitors in September. This brings the total up to 917 so far for 2006. We are <br />expecting to exceed the number of per day visitors but not the 2005 total, due to <br />fewer open hours. <br />2) Monarch Elementary second graders will tour the Museum on November 2. Don <br />and Virginia will be the tour guides. <br />C. Events and Fund Raising <br />1) All items from the Silent Auction have been distributed and all monies collected. <br />2) Bridget received a check from Louisville: Soul of the City Art Show for $230. Dan <br />Mellish will send a thank you. <br />3) Parade of Lights - Friday, December 1, 2006. <br />a. Donna Hauswald will note in the Louisville Times Community Calendar that <br />the Museum will be open and serving refreshments. <br />b. It was noted that we need an "OPEN" sign in front of the Campus property <br />during these special events. Sally Burlingame will ask Kim Salone if he will <br />make a "sandwich board" sign for us. <br />c. Discussion was held concerning space for both a Christmas tree and the <br />Monarch Mine display. Bridget Bacon will study the area and discuss it at the <br />November meeting <br />d. Saturday, November 11 at 9:00 AM has been set aside to decorate the <br />Museum buildings. <br />e. Donna Hauswald will check the cost of helium tanks at Sam's Club and Alice <br />Koerner will check the cost of renting the tanks for filling the balloons. <br />f. Elle Cabbage will bring the cookies and Alice Koerner will make the wassail. <br />4) Holiday Home Tour <br />a. We have five homes as well as the Museum and the Methodist Church lined <br />up. The addresses are: <br />941 Garfield Avenue - Dr. Cassidy's former home. <br />912 Garfield Avenue <br />708 Garfield Avenue <br />401 Roosevelt Avenue <br />700 Hutchison Street - Bob Enrietto's former home. <br />b. Elle Cabbage will check with Heritage Bank on the availability of their window <br />for advertising. <br />c. The DBA has found a sponsor and will be providing a horse and carriage <br />during the Holiday Home Tour. <br />d. The back of the tickets will list businesses (4-5) that support the Museum <br />Campus and a coupon for one of them. <br />e. Maps will be bigger this year and on a separate piece of paper. Business <br />Sponsors will also be listed. <br />f. Preview and walk through for Commission Members will be Thursday, <br />November 30, at 5:30 PM. We will start at 941 Garfield Avenue. <br />g. It is best to have two host/hostesses at each home during the tour. <br />h. Each Commission Member will receive 10 tickets to sell. <br />
