RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD ANSWERS FOR APPLICANTS BEING INTERVIEWED
Full Name
Briefly explain your interest on serving on the Recreation What is your favorite thing about the
Advisory Board. Recreation/Senior Center or Coal Creek Golf
Course and why?
What is your vision for Recreation/Senior
programs or the Coal Creek Golf Course?
What efforts would you undertake to
encourage, lead, or advocate for
Recreation or Golf programs to be
accessible, inclusive, and culturally
relevant?
What qualifications, skill sets, and
relevant experiences do you have
that would be beneficial and
contribute to the success of the
Recreation Advisory Board?
Joyce Brassem My husband and I go to the Rec Center 6 days a week for
the past...many, many years. We've been residents for 24.
I love the rec center and would look forward to helping it
progress forward.
There are many favorite things about the rec
center. The people, staff and attendees are
spectacular. Staff is always helpful and listens.
The equipment is the best in the area. The
Senior Center hosts a number of great activities.
The socialization/people is great.
Overnight trips begun. Rec Center advancing
forward with better equipment and down road
additional programs like pottery. Etc.
I think we should be inclusive to all
residents in our city.
Have been in charge of a number of
things in the school where I taught.
Was on housing committee. My
husband and I do volunteer work for
rec center.
Daniel
Brenner
I think the Rec Center is one of Louisville's crowning The Rec Center succeeds in being a place of
achievements. It brings the community together in a way community for people of all ages. More than
that fosters camaraderie, provides great opportunities for any other rec center I have seen, there is
residents of all ages, and espouses the town's values. My appropriate programming for people in all
wife and I are expecting our first child in November, and as stages of life. In my opinion, that creates a
a more recent member of the community who intends to strong sense of community. My goal on the
build my family here, I want to continue supporting and board would be to increase intergenerational
expanding the offerings of Louisville Recreation. programing.
The programming should be a place for both
enjoyment and community building. I think a sense
of community is built through opportunities to meet
new people in town and enjoy recreation activities
with new folks.
I would encourage more programming
integrating different age groups. I
would also enjoy the opportunity to
lead the expansion of new
programming and/or facilities at the
Rec Center or Golf Course to allow for
more opportunities for residents.
I am an attorney and I often review,
analyze, and draft regulations, so I
am very familiar with city ordinances
and navigating a complicated
regulatory landscape. I also am
starting my family here in Louisville,
so I have an incentive to create long-
term growth in a way that benefits
current and future residents.
Julien Denat
We have one of the greatest recreation center and
activities in the State and probably in the Country, and I
would love to contribute to its further development. I
have been coaching my son's soccer team and would
thrive giving more back to the community.
I love that it is a community gathering and every
time we go to the Rec Center, to a soccer game,
or to the golf course, we meet community
friends.
I would like to develop tennis more in the
community. Boulder County has been giving up on
tennis and I see a community for it and Louisville
Recreation could be the right place. I also think we
should further develop and promote cultural
activities with the Rec Center for all, from kids to
senior members
I would promote an open house of the
Rec Center and the golf course to
show all what we have to offer,
including a welcoming and inclusive
community,
I am a strategic thinker and an
excellent project manager at the
same time. Also, my strong
background in supply chain can
prove to be valuable. And I truly care
about my kids and my community to
get the best recreation services.
Eugene
Kutscher
Reappointment Application
Everett Weiss Recreational activites have always been a part of my life The rec center is a great place for community to More engagement with the youth in our
and I want to get involved with my own city's recreational gather. Whether I'm meeting friends at the pool community.
programs. or taking a shower because there is no
electricity, all ages can gather and bond.
I will listen to all the voices in my
community to ensure that all the
youth have a say in their recreational
programs in their city.
I am a representative of the younger
population of Louisville. I am
currently on the Youth Advisory
Board and would like to have more
of a say in recreational facilities.
City Council 9-10 December 2024 Packet
13
